The Drive LIVE with Big Al and DMac break down the big breaking news of the day, Mark Sanchez being named the Broncos starting quarterback heading into Thursday’s Preseason opener. The Drive with Big Al and DMac gets going with today’s biggest news, Tim Tebow is going to pursue a Baseball career! DMac is taking offense to this because news also came out that it’s for a reality show and it’s not a legit move because he’s disgracing the game of Baseball. Comparisons of Michael Jordan and Garth Brooks pop up. The Quarterback Leaderboard has Mark Sanchez being confirmed as the official starter for Thursday’s preseason opener against Chicago.
The Big Three at 3:30 touches on Sanchez being named starter for the Broncos, the Red Sox cancelling David Ortiz bobblehead night because the bobbleheads they received weren’t an accurate portrayal of Papi. Peyton Manning has been everywhere since he retired and Alfred thinks he’s visiting Detroit next after visiting the Hall of Fame and hanging out with Dierks Bentley. Finally, Missy Franklin’s struggles at the Olympics.
Our Broncos Insider Cecil Lammey joins the show to break down today’s big news, Mark Sanchez being named the starter for preseason game number one against the Bears on Thursday. The fellas toss around ideas of a “dark horse” player that could make the 53 man roster, including guys like Eddie Yarbrough. Hear our conversation with Cecil HERE!
Football at Four underway with the quarterback debate continuing as we try to figure out Kubiak’s decision to announce this news AFTER his presser earlier today when he could’ve just cut the unnecessary games and told the media then.
The Rockies are trying to get the final game of the series against the Texas Rangers as the game isn’t televised in the Denver market, Al and DMac give you ball by ball action updates of the Rox game as they try to regain a lead they lost late in the game.
Next, we continue this Rockies talk as it seems only than a week ago, we were singing praises, now the outlook is very gloomy as a caller comes on with the fellas and drops a pipe bomb on DMac.
Troy Renck from Denver 7 joins the show to talk about the Broncos’ decision to start Mark Sanchez on Thursday in their first preseason game. We also get Troy’s response to Tim Tebow deciding to pursue a baseball career. He finds it insulting for him to do this because it reeks of a publicity stunt. We also get Troy’s response on the Rockies’ recent skid. Hear our entire chat with Troy HERE!
The third and final hour underway brings in Tyler Polumbus in studio to get his insight on what this time of camp is like with the Broncos because he was just a part of this team only a year ago. The fellas start saying Tyler needs to bulk back up and get back on the field because this team needs him. The debate starts that Trevor Siemian doesn’t have the leadership qualities needed to lead a professional football team.
The Closing Bell, trending up and trending down, rings on Mark Sanchez and the television coverage of the Olympics is trending up. Trending down is Serena Williams, who has been eliminated from competition.
The show wraps up with the fellas talking about how Coaches speak to their players in professional sports, highlighting Bruce Arians of the Cardinals
