In NFL coaching interviews, no one is more in demand than Denver Broncos’ Ejiro Evero

In this coach-hiring cycle, the hottest public pursuit appears to be that of Sean Payton. Three teams have scheduled interviews with the ex-New Orleans Saints head coach. That includes the Denver Broncos, who are scheduled to be the first to interview him Tuesday.
But one other coach has more teams wanting to interview him.
And that’s the coach with an office in UCHealth Training Center.
Saturday, the Carolina Panthers sought permission to interview Evero for their head-coaching position. That made Carolina the fourth team to seek an audience with Evero.
Every team but Arizona with an opening has at least requested an interview with Evero. He had an in-person interview with the Broncos on Jan. 10. He also interviewed with Indianapolis this week.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero first reported the Panthers’ request.
The #Panthers requested an interview with #Broncos DC Ejiro Evero for their head coaching job, per source.
That's four for Evero, who also spoke with Denver and the #Colts and has the #Texans next week. A lot of interest.

Atlanta also requested to interview Evero for its vacant defensive-coordinator position. But the Broncos blocked it, as is their right with a lateral move.
No other coaching candidate has as much reported interest as Evero.
Three candidates have reported requests from three different teams: Payton (Arizona, Denver, Houston), San Francisco defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans (Carolina, Denver, Houston) and Detroit offensive coordinator Ben Johnson (Carolina, Houston, Indianapolis).
In total, 23 different coaching-candidates have at least had interviews requested of them by teams.
Evero might not be the front-runner for any of the jobs in play. But despite the Broncos’ 5-12 season, his work earned notice and vaulted him up the list.
His time might not be this offseason … but he may not have to wait long.
