Mile High Magazine 05/26/2024 Part 2 Colorado Black Health Collaborative

Guest: Doctor Terry Richardson Director, Leader and Founder of the HBHC Here in Colorado, 22 community organizations have signed on to support ending the sale of menthol tobacco and vaping products to African American youth. Menthol cigarettes are used by 85% of Black American smokers and they are the initiations of smoking products for African American youth age 12 to 17.  Studies estimate ending the use of menthol would save the lives of 654,000 Americans. Including 255,000 African Americans over the next 40 years.  The Colorado Black Health Collaborative, have been working to end smoking in African American communities and especially among black youth since CBHC's inception.
