Guest: Chuck Fuschillo President and CEO More than 6.2 million people in America have Alzheimer’s, and in Colorado there are 76,000 people and the number is going to be increase in the coming years. There is no cure. Alzheimer’s is a progressive brain disorder that impacts an individual’s memory, thinking, language skills and their ability to perform certain task. People often get Alzheimer and dementia mixed up. Dementia is not a disease but a term to use to describe symptoms. Memory loss, confusion about time and place, difficulty in judging situations, changes in moods or personality are all signs of Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer’s is not a normal part of aging. On May 17th from 10a-1p the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America will be in Denver as part of the Educating America Tour. There will be experts and caregivers to talk about the sings and what is happening with the current research.
