Guest: Richard Cook Director of Development Davis Phinney was a cyclist best know for his win in the 1984 Olympics and has the most wins for American cyclist. After he was done with his cycling career, he started to notice a trimmer and mental fog, soon after he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Davis started the foundation after he was told by his doctors to rest, for an Olympic athlete he started looking into how to live well with Parkinson’s. In 2008 it discovered that high aerobic exercise is one of the best things you can do with you have Parkinson’s. The programs at the Davis Phinney Foundation are unique that centralized around their educational offerings. They have programs for people with Parkinson’s and one for the is for the caregivers.
