Mile High Magazine 06/04/2023 Denver Arts & Venues
Guest: Amber Fochi Marketing and Communications Manager Denver Public Art has been hosting guided tours for several years now. A guide will show you around and tell you about the history of the pieces. They offer walking tours, bike tours, family tours that are offered mostly on the weekends. In 1988, Mayor Federico Peña established an ordinance dedicating 1% of every municipal capital improvement project budget to new public art. Tickets for the tours are just $5 and kids 10 and under are free. They also offer virtual and self-guided tours that are free. Some of the art that is around the city that people do not realize is art are the big blue bear at the convention center, the sound art that plays noise as people walk down that sidewalk, or the tall dancers by the performing arts center just to name a few. If you have a group, you can also contact them about their private tours. DenverPublicArt.org
