Mile High Magazine 12/06/2020 Denver Rescue Mission

Guest:  Nicole Tschetter Public Relations Manager The Denver Rescue Mission has been reaching out to those experiencing homelessness for the past 128 years.  They provide meals and shelter as well as have transitional housing for those that need a little extra help transitioning out of homelessness.  Homelessness takes on different forms and shapes, it can happen to anyone.  This year they have been incredibly busy.  They have added locations with the pandemic at the Denver Coliseum and 48th Avenue Center as well as the Warren Street Community Center.  They have seen more people coming in for meal services.  Coming up is the Season of Hope fundraiser and they are ask people to provide a gift to men in the New Life Program.  A gift of $40 provides a gift of thing such as headphones or tools to hats or sweatshirts.  The New Life Program is a yearlong rehabilitation program for men recovering from addiction and homelessness.  They provide mentorship, classes, and work readiness programs to help men overcome their challenges.  Right now, they have over 100 men in the program.  Season of Hope is going from December 7th to December 15th.   denverrescuemission.org/seasonofhope
