Guest: Maria Trujillo   January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month nationwide.  Human Trafficking is the denial of someone’s human rights to freedom and basic dignity.  It is the exploitation of someone through force, fraud and coercion for some type of labor or forced work.  It is not just sex trafficking but it could also be agriculture and door to door sales.  A lot of people do not realize that it is happening right here in Colorado.  Trafficking does not matter someone’s age, race, or gender it can happen to anyone.  Mostly to people who are venerable.  Some of the misconceptions about human trafficking is all human trafficking is sex trafficking or that it only happens to women or girls.  The Colorado Human Trafficking Council has a campaign going on in January to help educate people on these myths.
