Guest: Cara Belvin Founder empowerHer started as a non-profit for girls who have lost their moms.  It has expanded since then to be for all kids who have lost either their mom or dad.  The loss of a parent is hard no matter your age.  Youth feel isolation when they lose a parent, empowerHER helps them to know that they are not alone.  The kids have mentors who have been in their shoes, a mentor is an adult who shows a child they care.  A mentor is asked to be with empowerHER for at least a year and to show up for five hours a month.  If you know and love a child up to the age of 24 who has lost a parent, enrollment is free.  https://www.empoweringher.org/
