Mile High Magazine 11/29/2020 Governor’s Residence Preservation Fund

Guest: Coco Criste, Governor’s Residence Preservation Fund Executive Director   The mansion was built in 1908 as a residence for the widow and the daughter of Denver real estate tycoon Walter Cheesman. Claude K. Boettcher purchased the mansion in 1923. After Boettcher died, the Boettcher Foundation inherited the house and they offered the house to the State of Colorado as an Executive Residence.  In a typical year they host events to help raise funds to preserve the house.  They also sell ornaments to help raise money.  There is a series of 12 ornaments, one for each year for the past 12 years they have been doing it.  The ornament this year commemorates the 100th anniversary of the historic and groundbreaking passage of the 19th Amendment, guaranteeing and protecting women’s constitutional right to vote.     http://www.coloradoshome.org http://www.coloradoshome.org/gift-shop/
