A study from the National Academies of Sciences and Medicines indicates 1/3 of adults age 45+ feel lonely and 25% of older adults age 65+ are considered socially isolated. Loneliness and social isolation are conditions that can increase heart disease risk 29%, stroke by 32% with a 50% risk increase of dementia.
