Mile High Magazine 08/18/2024 Honor Bell Foundation

Guest: Laurie Kuntz Executive Director Honor Bell Foundation is an organization that honors our veterans.  The Honor Bell is a 1000 LB bronze bell that they take to veteran’s funerals and they ring that bell at the end of the funeral.  They primarily go to Fort Logan National Cemetery and two days a month they go to Pikes Peak National Cemetery.  The ringing of the bell is meant to symbolize the final salute to that veteran.  The bell is made from items artifacts from 12 Colorado soldiers donated, so every time the bell is pulled, those 12 soldiers take that new veteran home with them.  The rang the bell for the first time in 2016 and since then it has been pulled 6800 times.       honorbell.org
