ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — D.J. Jones did not practice once again as the Broncos continued preparing for their season-ending game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Jones has only practiced once in the last two weeks since a knee problem landed him on the injury report three days after the Broncos’ Christmas Day loss to the Rams. He did not play last week against Kansas City, marking the first time this season he did not not start or play.
Five other players did not practice Thursday:
- OT Calvin Anderson (ankle)
- WR Kendall Hinton (chest/foot)
- Edge rusher Jonathan Kongbo (illness)
- TE Eric Saubert (knee)
- TE Eric Tomlinson (ankle)
Of those, all but Kongbo did not practice Wednesday.
Returning to practice Thursday after not practicing Wednesday were:
- S Kareem Jackson (veteran day off)
- CB Damarri Mathis (concussion)
- RG Quinn Meinerz (foot)
- NT Mike Purcell (elbow/ankle)
- CB K’Waun Williams (knee)
All saw limited work Thursday.

WR Jerry Jeudy and TE/FB Andrew Beck each saw limited repetitions for a second consecutive day.
Edge rusher Baron Browning also had a full practice workload after being limited Wednesday. Browning did not play last Sunday due to a back issue but is trending towards returning for the finale.
