ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — One day after the Broncos’ complement of players on injured reserve swelled to a season-high 22, 10 players did not take part in practice as the team began preparations for Sunday’s season finale against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Among those absences were six players currently listed on the first team:
- WR Kendall Hinton (chest/foot)
- S Kareem Jackson (veteran rest day)
- DL D.J. Jones (knee)
- CB Damarri Mathis (concussion)
- RG Quinn Meinerz (foot)
- DL Mike Purcell (elbow/ankle)
Hinton returned to the lineup last Sunday after missing two games with a hamstring injury. Jones did not play in Kansas City because of his injury.
Four other players also sat out Wednesday:
- OT Calvin Anderson (ankle)
- TE Eric Saubert (knee)
- TE Eric Tomlinson (knee)
- CB K’Waun Williams (knee)
All but Anderson played last week against Kansas City.
On the positive side, edge rusher Baron Browning saw limited work Wednesday. He missed the Chiefs game due to a back issue.
Also receiving limited work were FB/TE Andrew Beck (elbow) and WR Jerry Jeudy (ankle).
