Broncos injury update: Risner reportedly out for Week 14

DENVER — Heading into this week, just six Broncos players had started every regular-season game this campaign.
Now, that number will likely be down to four.
One day after the Broncos ruled out WR Courtland Sutton for the Chiefs game because of a hamstring injury, KUSA-Ch. 9’s Mike Klis reported that left guard Dalton Risner will not play Sunday due to shoulder and back problems. Those issues sidelined him for two days during the week’s practice preparation.

Risner saw limited work Friday. However, that was not enough to get him ready to make his 13th start in as many games this season.
Third-year veteran Netane Muti could start in place of Risner. The Broncos used a practice-squad activation on Muti Saturday. Muti started three games in 2021 and one in his 2020 rookie campaign. But he did not make the 53-player roster out of camp, leaving him on the practice squad all year.
Denver also moved offensive tackle Quinn Bailey back from the practice squad to the 53-player roster Saturday. Bailey was on the 53-player roster before the Broncos waived him Tuesday. He passed through waivers and spent three days back on the practice squad before his re-promotion.
Bailey was on the 53-player roster for each of the previous two weeks.
With Sutton and Risner out, the only four players to have started every Broncos game will be safety Kareem Jackson, cornerback Pat Surtain II and defensive linemen D.J. Jones and Dre’Mont Jones — assuming all four start Sunday.
