There was no setback for Russell Wilson on Saturday, and he will return to the Broncos’ lineup.
Wilson practiced all week in London, including without limitations on Friday. After that day’s practice, Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett said that Wilson would play — barring a “setback.”
With that, Wilson makes a return to action not even a fortnight after suffering a Grade II hamstring sprain. That level of sprain involves a partial tear. A typical recovery time starts at 21 days. Wilson made it back in 13.
So, it seems like the extra treatment he received during the 8-hour trans-Atlantic flight helped.
The news was also good for ILB Josey Jewell. He returns to the line up after missing the last three games due to a sprained knee suffered in the Oct. 6 loss to the Colts.
Also playing is safety P.J. Locke. He landed on the injury report Saturday due to a hamstring issue.
Denver’s seven inactive players are:
CB Essang Bassey
ILB Baron Browning
WR Tyrie Cleveland
OT Cam Fleming
RB Marlon Mack
TE Albert Okwuegbunam
DL Enyi Uwazurike
Bassey, Browning and Fleming did not make the trip to London due to their injuries.
Okweugbunam is a healthy scratch for the third consecutive week. He hasn’t played since the Broncos activated TE Greg Dulcich from injured reserve.
Mack sits out after joining the team this week. Denver promoted RB Devine Ozigbo from the practice squad to the active roster as the No. 3 running back.
