Daniel Bard wins Smashburger’s “Smashed It” Play of the Week

Daniel Bard earned this week’s Smashburger “Smashed It” Play of the Week for his save against the Braves on Tuesday night in Atlanta.
The Rockies were protecting a 3-2 lead when Bard entered the game in the bottom of the ninth to close the game out. Bard did what he’s done multiple times this year, setting down the opposition in order for a stress free save. Bard struck out two of the three Braves he faced.
Bard has 28 saves, tied for the fifth most in MLB. The Rockies gave him a contract extension right before the trade deadline, so he’s certainly part of their future plans.
