Bradley Chubb still a question mark before camp

One day before the official start of the Denver Broncos’ 2021 Training Camp there are still questions surrounding Pro Bowl outside linebacker Bradley Chubb.

In a press conference on Tuesday, head coach Vic Fangio was asked how he would manage key veteran players like Von Miller, Courtland Sutton and Chubb.

Fangio said each player is in different stages of their return, but his comments about Chubb were especially concerning.

“Bradley is coming off his injury. He’s not in great shape yet. With it being an ankle, he missed a lot of workout time in the offseason up until even today. So his will be shorter starting out just because of a conditioning standpoint.”

This year is supposed to be special with the return of Chubb and Miller. The pair haven’t played together at the same time since Week 4 in 2019.

Miller and Chubb shined in 2018 when the two combined for 26.5 sacks as they were one of the most dominant pass-rushing duos in the league.

However, the news of Chubb is still concerning considering the first game of the season is 47 days away.

The Pro Bowler tore his ACL on Sept. 29, 2019, during a Week 4 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played almost a full quarter after he suffered the injury.

Chubb had ankle surgery earlier this offseason and the Broncos expect him to participate in training camp and be ready for the start of the regular season.

Hopefully the dynamic duo of Chubb and Miller can be back in full force this season.
