Paton probably not keen on idea of Broncos hiring Peyton

Peyton Manning is about to be inducted into the Pro Footbal Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. He’ll always be remembered as an Indianapolis Colt, but his time in Denver cannot be overlooked. Two Super Bowl appearances, one Super Bowl win, one MVP award and multiple records shattered.
Manning’s star burned the brightest in Denver, to the point many in Broncos Country want him to have a front office role. However, one man might be thinking otherwise: current general George Paton.
Paton finally got his first chance of being an NFL GM this offseason when Denver hired him. He went through all the proper channels and helped build a solid foundation in Minnesota with the Vikings.
Paton signed a six-year deal with the Broncos to build this team in his image; he is not going to want to be immediately usurped by PFM.
Many in Broncos Country would love Manning to be involved in the Broncos rebuild, and I don’t blame them. However, I doubt Paton wants to be second fiddle to Manning. If a Broncos rebuild were successful, you know Manning would receive most of the credit and praise.
Denver already been through this problem with hiring a legend to run the team, and though it started great with John Elway, we all know how the past five years have gone. Do you want to go through those same issues with Manning?
Once you hire that guy, it’s incredibly difficult to move on.
